Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to call a taxi with Denizli Taksi, including people who are blind, have low vision, or cannot hear or speak. Here is how to use the site with your phone’s screen reader and what we have done to help.
Calling a taxi with a screen reader
The site works with VoiceOver on iPhone and TalkBack on Android.
- At the very top of the home page there is a Skip to taxi finder link. It takes you straight to the finder without going through the menu.
- Double-tap Taxi Near Me and allow location access.
- When your location is found, the nearest official taxi rank and its distance are read out, and the phone vibrates briefly.
- Double-tap Call the Taxi. At ranks with live tracking, a 4-digit code is read out first; say it when the rank answers the phone.
The map is visual only, so the screen reader skips it. The nearest rank is always given by the finder, and every zone is listed under Taxi Zones.
Spoken live tracking updates
If you gave the code to the rank, the site tells you by voice when the rank receives your code, when your taxi sets off (with its plate number), when it is about 2 minutes away and when it has arrived. The phone also vibrates at these moments. Keep the page open while you wait.
The blue accessibility button
If the rank has a WhatsApp line, a blue accessibility button appears next to Call the Taxi. It opens WhatsApp with a ready message that includes your location (and your live tracking code, if the rank uses it). The message says you are a customer with a disability and asks the rank to reply in writing, to let you know on WhatsApp when the car arrives, and the driver to wait for you by the car. You don’t need to explain your disability or make a phone call. Your phone can read the rank’s reply aloud.
Reading and display
- You can zoom the page with two fingers; text stays readable when enlarged.
- Text and buttons are designed with strong contrast on a dark background.
- If your phone is set to reduce motion, the site’s animations are reduced too.
Tell us if something doesn’t work
If a part of the site is hard to use with your screen reader or settings, please let us know by email at info@denizlitaksi.net or through the contact form at the bottom of the home page. Telling us which phone and screen reader you use helps us fix it faster.
