Privacy Notice on the Processing of Personal Data
Information about the data processed through location, IP address, notifications and forms.
1. Data controller
This notice has been prepared under Article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) to inform visitors who use the denizlitaksi.net website and its mobile apps.
Data controller: Alparslan Özdemir, Karşıyaka, Ankara Blv. No:186, 20170 Pamukkale/Denizli, Turkey. E-mail: info@ayzajans.com
Denizli Taksi is not a taxi company. It is an information service that directs visitors to the nearest taxi stand. The ride itself is provided by the stand you call.
2. What data we process, why and for how long
Your data is collected automatically when you use the site, or provided by you when you fill in a form or turn on notifications.
| Data | When it is collected | Purpose | Legal basis (KVKK Art. 5) | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Location (GPS coordinates and accuracy) | When you tap “Taxi Near Me” or the location button on the map and give permission | Finding the stand nearest to you (this is done on your device). Your location is recorded on our server only when you call a stand, together with the call record, to detect fake and malicious calls; an approximate version (to about 100 metres) is shared with that stand | Provision of the service (Art. 5/2-c), legitimate interest (Art. 5/2-f) | 60 days; then deleted (monthly call counts remain without any personal data) |
| The spot you mark on the map | When you choose a spot on the map | Finding the stand nearest to that spot | Provision of the service (Art. 5/2-c) | If you call a stand without granting location permission, this spot is added to the call record like the Location row (60 days; its approximate form is shared with that stand). If you do not call, it is not stored on our server; it is used only on your device and for route calculation |
| IP address, device, operating system, browser and language, referring website, time of the call | When you call a stand. For forms and notification sign-up, your IP address is kept for at most 1 day in an irreversibly encrypted form to prevent misuse. When you visit the site, only anonymous visit counts are kept | Security; detecting fake calls, bots and misuse | Legitimate interest (Art. 5/2-f) | 60 days |
| Click records (which stand was called, opening directions) | When you tap the “Call Taxi” and “Get Directions” buttons | Measuring the service; reporting to stands the calls they receive (see section 4) | Legitimate interest (Art. 5/2-f) | 60 days; after that only as monthly counts |
| Live tracking record: the 4-digit code, an irreversibly encrypted form of the key created by your browser, the stand you called and the time; the point where you are if you granted location permission or picked a spot on the map, and your location as it is updated until the taxi arrives; the text and voice messages you exchange with the driver; an irreversibly encrypted form of your IP address | When you tap “Call now” before calling a stand where live tracking is turned on | When you tell the code to the stand, showing the plate, map location and estimated arrival time of the taxi assigned to you on this page; passing your location and messages to the assigned driver so you can meet the taxi; preventing one person from creating many codes. If you do not tell the code to the stand, it is not matched to any record | Provision of the service (Art. 5/2-c), legitimate interest (Art. 5/2-f) | Messages, voice messages and your location are deleted when the driver picks you up or the record is closed; the record is deleted automatically after 3 hours at the latest. Only the approximate form of your location (about 100 metres) stays in the stand’s customer record for 60 days |
| Suggestion/complaint details: type, zone, plate, message, photo, optional phone number | When you send the Suggestion/Complaint form | Forwarding your report to the stand concerned and resolving it; the phone number is optional, and if you give it the stand concerned also sees it and may call you | Provision of the service (Art. 5/2-c), legitimate interest (Art. 5/2-f) | 1 year; deleted automatically together with the photo (monthly report counts remain without any personal data) |
| Stand records: name, phone number, pick-up and drop-off address; lost item details | Entered into the system by the stand when you phone it to order a taxi or report a lost item | Dispatching your taxi; returning lost items to their owners; resolving possible complaints | Conclusion and performance of a contract (Art. 5/2-c), legitimate interest (Art. 5/2-f); protection of a right in an ongoing dispute (Art. 5/2-e) | The record itself is kept; your name, phone number and addresses are deleted automatically after 1 year. In cases such as legal proceedings or an unreturned item, they may be kept until the matter is resolved |
| Name, e-mail, subject, message | When you send the contact form | Replying to your request; your message is also delivered to our mailbox | Provision of the service (Art. 5/2-c) | 1 year; the record in our system is deleted automatically and the copy in our mailbox within 1 year at the latest |
| Notification subscription: the notification address and encryption keys created by your browser, language, device type, whether you use the app, the name of the zone where you last looked for a taxi | When you turn on notifications | Sending announcements and information, including announcements for your zone | Explicit consent (Art. 5/1) | Until you turn notifications off; deleted automatically if you do not visit the site for 1 year |
You do not have to give location permission. You can also reach a stand by marking a spot on the map or choosing your zone from the list. You can turn location off at any time in the Settings section of the menu or in your phone or browser settings. In the Android app, this permission is managed in the phone’s Settings → Apps → Denizli Taksi → Permissions.
You can turn notifications off at any time in the Settings section of the menu or in your phone settings; when you do, your notification record is deleted. Whether notifications are opened is kept only as a total count.
Data whose retention period has ended is deleted automatically every day or anonymised so that it cannot be linked to anyone.
In addition, the server hosting the site keeps your IP address, the time of the visit and the requested page as a technical access log on every visit. These logs are not covered by the daily deletion above; they are kept only for security and legal obligations, for the period required by law.
3. Information stored on your device
Our site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser storage keeps only your language choice, the last zone found, your location and notification settings, whether you have seen the information bar and announcements, and, if you used live tracking, the tracking code and key (for up to 3 hours). The site also stores some pages on your device so that it can open without an internet connection.
This information is not sent to our server; only if you have turned on notifications is the name of the last region added to your notification record, and if you used live tracking, the tracking key is sent so your taxi’s status can be checked. You can remove it by deleting site data in your browser settings.
4. Who we share your data with
- Taxi stands: When you call a stand with the “Call Taxi” button on the site, the date and time of the call, how many times it was repeated, the website it came from and, if you gave location permission, your approximate location (to about 100 metres) are shared with that stand so it can detect fake and malicious calls; your IP address and device information are not shared. Your suggestion or complaint is forwarded to the stand concerned so it can be resolved; the phone number is optional and is forwarded with your report only if you gave it. Stands may use this information only to detect fake calls and to resolve your report.
- Phone call: When you phone a stand, the stand sees your number on its own phone. The call itself is not recorded; to dispatch your taxi, the stand may enter your name, phone number and address into the system (see “Stand records” in the table in section 2).
- Live tracking: At a stand where live tracking is turned on, if you tell your code to the stand and the stand enters it in your record, the plate, map location and estimated arrival time of the taxi assigned to you are shown only in your browser; the driver’s name and phone number are not shown. Until the taxi arrives, your location and the text or voice messages you exchange with the driver are visible only in the assigned driver’s app; your phone number is not shared. Tracking ends automatically when the driver reports that you have been picked up, when the record is closed, or after 45 minutes at the latest; messages and voice messages are deleted at that moment.
- Stand sharing your location with the driver: When you call a stand with the “Call Taxi” button on the site and you have allowed location access or picked a spot on the map, that point appears for a few minutes among the “recent callers” on the stand’s panel and on the live vehicle maps of the stand and the site management (your name and phone number are not shown). If the stand confirms that the person on the phone is you, the point is added to your customer record and shown only in the app of the driver assigned to you and on the maps of the stand and the site management. The location is deleted from the record when the driver reports picking you up, when the record is closed or cancelled, and at the latest after 3 hours. Only its approximate form (about 100 metres) is kept in your record for 60 days so that the pick-up point can be found for complaints and lost-property requests; only the stand and the site management can see it, and it is deleted when the period ends.
- Our service provider: Servers, hosting and e-mail are provided by Ayz Ajans. Ayz Ajans accesses your data only to provide this service and in line with our instructions.
- External services: These services are contacted for map images (OpenStreetMap), distance and time calculation (OSRM routing servers), approximate address on the stand panel (OpenStreetMap Nominatim) and delivering notifications (your browser’s or phone’s push service: Google, Apple, Mozilla, Microsoft). Section 5 explains what information is sent; these services apply their own privacy rules.
- Competent public authorities: Courts, prosecutors and law enforcement when required by law.
Your data is never sold or used for advertising.
5. Transfers abroad
For the site to work, your browser connects directly to some servers abroad:
- Map images: When the map loads, your IP address is technically passed to OpenStreetMap map servers, which may be located abroad.
- Distance and time calculation: To calculate how long a taxi takes to reach you and the walking route to the stand, the coordinates of your location or of the spot you marked, together with the stand’s coordinates, are sent to open-source routing servers in Germany (router.project-osrm.org and routing.openstreetmap.de); your IP address is passed along as well. Your name, phone number or any other information is not sent.
- Address lookup: To show the caller’s approximate address (street and neighbourhood) on the stand panel, the coordinates of that point are sent through our server to OpenStreetMap’s address service (nominatim.openstreetmap.org); your IP address, name or phone number are not sent. The address found is kept with the coordinates only, for 30 days, so the same point is not looked up again.
- Notifications: If you have turned on notifications, announcements are delivered in encrypted form through your browser’s or phone’s push service (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft).
When you tap “Get Directions”, WhatsApp or phone links, the related app opens and its own privacy rules apply.
6. Your rights and how to apply
Under Article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to:
- learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, request information about it,
- learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used in line with that purpose,
- learn the third parties in Turkey or abroad to whom your data is transferred,
- request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data, its deletion or destruction, and notification of these actions to the parties it was transferred to,
- object to a result against you arising solely from analysis by automated systems,
- claim compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing.
You can send your request with enough information for us to verify your identity by e-mail to info@ayzajans.com, by signed letter to Karşıyaka, Ankara Blv. No:186, 20170 Pamukkale/Denizli, Turkey, or with a secure electronic signature or registered e-mail (KEP). Your request is answered free of charge within 30 days at the latest.
